Check in for runners takes place in the afternoon.
This is where you will receive your GOODIE BAG! YAY! This includes your race number, tent number, garment etc.

Please note all runners will receive dinner, dinner will stay open until 8pm on Friday night.
Under no circumstances may anybody run under anybody else’s name and The ITEC Oxpecker Trail Run does not take responsibility for casualties that take place if you are running under someone else’s name and if caught will be banned from the event and future events.
It is recommended that all runners attend the race briefing. Runners are informed about the route, weather, safety and prizes will be given away in probably the most humorous way you’ve ever seen!

SATURDAY NIGHT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. It’s a lot of fun and one of our main features of the event! Prizes are given out through hysterical games and lots of entertainment.

Supporter packages will be VERY limited for 2018. We would like to make the supporters feel very welcome as well as well entertained.
EVERY supporter that enters the race village will need to be registered and will not be allowed into the finish area anymore unless you are registered. Supporters will share a tent with their runner.
We regret that no kids under 12 may attend the event either.

At The Oxpecker, it’s more than just the winners getting prizes! We have introduced a number of fun categories to enter to greater your chances of winning!
1st, 2nd & 3rd Men & Woman – (Overall, no sign up needed!) 1st, 2nd & 3rd Ostrich category – (For anyone who weighs in over 95kgs, a weigh in will be done at registration as well as at prize giving.) 1st, 2nd & 3rd Hummingbird category – (For women only who weigh in below 60kgs, a weigh in will be done at registration as well as at prize giving.) Family team category – (Any two people related in a family.) Relationship category – (A couple that has been dating for more than 3 months, this will only be awarded if you are still dating at the finish line!) 1st, 2nd & 3rd Local Men – (For men from Winterton & Bergville.) 1st, 2nd & 3rd Local Women – (For women from Winterton & Bergville.)

From Durban: (2.5 hours) Take the N 3 to Johannesburg, Approx. 6 km after the Ultra -City Garage near Estcourt. Take the Bergville off-ramp on the left. At the top of the off-ramp go left to Bergville/Winterton. Drive for 22km. Travel through Winterton and about 1km after the town, Take the R600 road to the right. The venue is about 20 km on the R 600 just after the river on the right hand side.
From Johannesburg: (3.5 hours) Take the N3 to Durban. Go through the Tugela Plaza (at the bottom of Van Reenen’s Pass) Approx. 12 km there is an off-ramp to Bergville on the left. Take it. At the top of the ramp TAKE THE LEFT TOWARDS LADYSMITH. (Not Bergville.) About 7 Km. Along this road is the R 600 to the right. Travel for about 15 km and we are on the left hand -side, just before the bridge.
Would you like a lift from the airport and then back again? Runners along with their bags will be greeted by an Oxpecker presenter at a meeting point at the airport on Friday at 1pm. The driver will bring you to Emseni and take you to registration.
After the race on Sunday, the shuttle will meet you where you were dropped off and he will drive you back to the airport.

ALL runners and paid for supporters will receive ALL meals. Supporters that haven’t booked supporter packages won’t be allowed access to meals. Weather in May: Cold mornings but heats up to about 20 degrees during the day, very cold in the evenings.

**Urgent Notice** If you are thinking about running under someone else’s name, or letting someone run under your name without doing the official substitution, there are consequences – You, and your runner, will be banned from all Oxpecker events and our affiliated events. The reasons are due to medical information we need in the case of an emergency. You will need to bring your ID document to registration or drivers license.
Should you find yourself not being able to run, you have the option to substitute your entry. This means letting someone buy your entry from you and allowing them to change their details so the entry becomes theirs. Please note you will receive the garment size that the original runner ordered.Substitutions
Refund Policy: 90% refund until 31 December 2017. 50% refund from 1 January 2018 – 1 February 2018. No refund after the 1st February 2018. Please note no refunds are given to those who are paying through the payment plan.
